On Sundays we are worshipping in person and streaming on Facebook Live at 10:30 am. The church is handicap-accessible via a platform lift in the SE corner of the building (next to the patio, with handicap parking immediately in front on Church St). Bible Study meets in the Parish House at 9:30.
Our Monday evening Bible study (which meets from 7:00 to 8:00 in the Parish House) is on hiatus for Lent. We will be doing Lenten Studies.
Lenten Study: Explorations in Christian Ethics
On the Mondays of Lent (March 10 - April 7), we will gather in the Undercroft for a light supper and program. Fr. John will lead us in discussions of Christian ethics, as we consider how we think about and apply Jesus' teachings to the moral problems we encounter in our daily lives. This takes the place of the usual Monday Bible Study, which will resume after Easter. Supper begins at 6:00 pm, with the discussion concluding by 7:30.
Wednesday Eucharist
On Wednesdays, we celebrate Holy Eucharist at Noon in the Chapel (enter via the glass Undercroft door at the back of the church building). These brief (thirty minutes) spoken services commemorate the saint of the day from the Episcopal calendar of Lesser Feasts and Fasts and are perfect for those who want to attend a service but are unable to come Sunday mornings or who want an additional gathering for corporate prayer to help them through the week. Our schedule in April is inconsistent: there will be Wednesday Eucharists on April 9 and 30, but no Wednesday Eucharist on April 2, 16, or 23.
Christ Episcopal Church at 321 E. Church Street, Martinsville, serves their FREE Community Meal the last Wednesday of the month from 5:00 pm – 6:00 pm in the Undercroft with a sit-down community meal (takeout will be available only at the end of the meal if there are any leftovers).
Volunteers welcome!
St. Christopher Adult Choir rehearses at 7:00 p.m. in the Choir Room (on the ground floor at the back of the Church building; enter via the glass double doors). All adults and teenagers are welcome, no prior music instruction is required, and the ability to read music is not necessary.
