On Maundy Thursday, we celebrate the institution of Holy Communion in Jesus’ last supper with his disciples and additionally wash one another’s feet (in obedience to Jesus’ command about loving one another as he loved the disciples) before stripping the altar at the end of communion in preparation for the next day. Those interested are invited to return during the night to pray in the chapel.
