Children’s Sunday School begins in the fall with a parish breakfast hosted by the Parish Life Committee. It is offered during the school year for children ages Preschool through 5th grade. A workshop rotation method is utilized where the children rotate from one classroom to another for different activities. These activities may include music, crafts, a video and/or cooking. The Sunday School Director and Sunday School teachers work as a team to facilitate these different activities. The Sunday School year ends with a parish picnic hosted by the Children’s Sunday School.
Our community believes in family worship and we encourage children to attend each service. Each pew is equipped with an activity bag providing younger children the outlet of coloring should they need a distraction during the service. A traveling gospel is routinely offered to the children allowing them to process with the Rector and Crucifer prior to an age appropriate sermon for the children.
A nursery is available each week should parents choose to attend the 10:30 service without their children. The nursery is staffed with well trained, dedicated personnel and is located in the Parish House.
Children interested in music are encouraged to enjoy one of our Junior Choirs. Our music program is well organized and dynamic, and we encourage you to find details about this program in the music section of this web site.
A youth group program is available for children from the 6th grade to the 12th grade. The program allows for Christian fellowship, community service, and discussion of relevant topics. The youth regularly attend a breakfast with the Rector for two-way discussion of issues pertinent to young adults.
