British Invasion 2010  

The Bradford England Youth are back !

The British Youth will be arriving in Washington, D.C. July 26th.

They will be in the Staunton area July 30 - August 2.

From August 2 - 7 they will participate with the rest of the Diocese in the Monacan Indian Mission Trip.

From August 7 - 15 they will be traveling throughout our Diocese. A finalizedᅠitineraryᅠis posted below and at the church.

Friday, August 13 is Martinsville Day for the British Youth. Please come greet them at the Parish House at aᅠ12:15ᅠluncheon.

Any youth in grades 9 - 12 that would like to travel with the British Youth is welcome. Contact Debbie Nortonᅠin the parish office.

Friday July 30th -

10:00 depart D.C.

12:00 Lunch and shopping in Charlottesville

4:00ish Arrive in Staunton in the late afternoon (Aimee will call hosts when we leave Charlottesville) Meet up with hosts at 4:00ish at Trinity Staunton

5:30 Meet at the Amatos for fun and food!

Saturday July 31st : Staunton- Laurel Caverns- 1 hour drive or Goshens Pass (play in the lake)

pack a picnic lunch- Hosts please coordinate this time together!

Shopping downtown

Dinner with hosts and time for rest!

Sunday August 1

Youth attend Emmanuel Staunton with the Cianciolos and the Beevers attend Trinity Staunton with the Stuarts.

Lunch at the Stuarts house afternwards? Within walking distance of both churches.

Afternoon for visiting with host families and walking around downtown Staunton

Monday August 2

10:00 departure for Bear Mountain

Stop in Lexington for a walk about

Lunch in Lexington at RE Lee or in town

Short hike somewhere? I mean very short!

5:00 Arrive at Bear Mountain for mission week August 2 -ᅠAugust 7

Saturday August 7

Noon: depart Bear Mountain and grab lunch on the way

3:30-4:00ish arrive Abingdon We will meet hosts at St. Thomas. An evening of quiet and rest is in order! Aimee will call the hosts as we are getting closer to Abingdon.

Sunday August 8

Lunch after church some where (Craig Wylie is taking care of this!)

Bike the Creeper Trail in Abingdon

Dinner with hosts

Monday August 9

9:30 Depart Abingdon to head to Roanoke. Hosts are asked to provide a light breakfast and bring folks to St. Thomas at 9:30

12:30ish Meet host families for Roanoke at lunch time. I am working on a possible lunch at St. James for everyone.

Tuesday August 10

9:00 Meet at Evans House for overnight River Camoe Trip from Camp Bethel

Wednesday August 11

Return to Roanoke late evening- pizza stop along the way home?

Stay with Roanoke hosts

Thursday August 12

10:00 breakfast at Evans House. Please meet at Evans House. Let Aimee know if you need help transporting your folks to Evans House.

Optional activities: Mill Mountain Zoo, Roanoke Star, Roanoke sites.

Meet at 5:00 at Evans House to eat out and then onto

Salem Red Sox Game 7:05 pm

Friday August 13ᅠᅠ Daytrip to Martinsville

9:30 meet at Evans House Day trip to Martinsville . Please provide breakfast and let Aimee know if you need her to pick up folks.

11:00 Speedway  NASCAR Pace Car ride

Lunch at the Christ Martinsville Parish House

Museum of Natural History

Return to Roanoke for dinner with hosts

Saturday August 14

9:00 Meet at Evans House for Smith Mountain Lake-

Stop at Creamery for Ice Cream

Dinner with hosts

Sunday August 15

4:00 meet at Evans House to go to BBQ/ goodbye party in Blacksburg

Monday August 16

Hosts please provide breakfast and lunch.

The group will meet at Evans House at 2:30 to head to airport

Fly out of Roanoke at 4:00pm
